When a normal conversation has extraordinary consequences.
Last Thursday, our managing partner Marcus Shute, Jr. was stopped in court by a young woman named Dionna Collins. She asked him if he ever had any issues with being a young black man and having locs in court. After a brief conversation with her she told him how glad she was to see someone who looked like her representing defendants instead of being one. And more that he would wear his locs without conforming to societal norms and stereotypes about what is considered professional. Little did Shute know that their conversation would turn into a Facebook Post that has been shared over 40K times and has more than 30K likes. You can check out her post below:
